Heritage · Since 1967
Four working generations in iron and steel. One 55-acre campus that melts, casts, heat-treats, machines and tests under a single name — for the steel, cement and machine-tool plants that can't afford a casting to fail.
The arc, in six moves
The first generation enters iron and steel trading. The foundation of everything that follows.
The group moves from trading into manufacturing. The first rolling mill is commissioned.
The heavy-engineering foundry is born. The mission: cast in India what India was importing.
The group's metallurgical depth expands. Vertical integration becomes a structural advantage.
Bhawani casts India's first single-piece 120-MT mill housing, under Naman Sood's technical leadership.
1,00,000 MT of heavy casting delivered. 100+ steel plants, OEMs and cement plants on the ledger.
Why this foundry exists
In the late 1990s, every Indian integrated steel plant ordering a heavy mill housing, a slag pot or a kiln tyre above 60 tons placed that order with a foreign foundry. Lead times ran six to nine months. Freight was a third of the casting cost. When something failed, the silence on the other end of the email chain was its own kind of expense.
Bhawani was built to fix one specific thing: the assumption that India couldn't pour the biggest castings itself. Twenty-five years later, the 120-ton single-piece mill housing that came out of our gates settled the argument.
The people Bhawani's customers actually talk to

Steward of the group's commercial and operational strategy. Final accountability for capital allocation, market expansion and customer relationships across all Bhawani divisions.

Flag bearer of the 4th gen, Operational head responsible for plant execution, supply-chain integrity, and the day-to-day metallurgy of the integrated 55-acre site.

Technical custodian of heavy engineering casting. Led the casting of India's first 120-ton single-piece mill housing. The voice on the line when a customer's casting needs a decision.
Why the fourth generation matters
does not treat a casting as a transaction. The Sood family is on its fourth working generation in iron and steel — not a slogan, an operational truth. Decisions about steel grade, heat treatment, which orders to accept and which to decline, are made by people whose name is on the gate.
When a customer raises an issue about a casting they bought six years ago, the person they reach is the person whose family put it on the truck. That accountability shows up in the metallurgy.
You're not betting on one foundry
Bhawani draws on the metallurgical depth, melting capacity and operational discipline of the wider Royal Group, which produces roughly 1,800 MT of steel a day. The heavy casting yard is the consolidated heavy-section output of all of it.
Where Bhawani has been seen
Exhibited at the world's leading foundry trade fair — engaging global steel-plant OEMs, cement majors and machine-tool builders. Booth materials available on request.
India's first single-piece 120-ton mill housing, cast at Bhawani. Featured in Indian foundry publications. Detailed engineering note available to qualifying customers under NDA.
Original POV briefings on heavy-casting lifecycle, metallurgy, and the procurement-vs-operations gap. Distributed to procurement and meltshop leadership across India and the Gulf.
What an engagement with Bhawani looks like
Drawing reviewed, failure modes mapped against the service environment, metallurgy locked. Indicative timeline issued.
Pattern built in-house. Steel melted, refined, poured. Heat treatment, machining, NDT, dimensional analysis. Final inspection witnessed by the customer where requested.
Casting commissioned. Service-life data collected. Findings fed back into the next-cycle specification. The relationship outlasts the PO.
The standards Bhawani is audited against
Material standards we test and certify to: ASTM · BIS · SAE · DIN · IS. Test certificates are issued from our in-house central testing lab and accompany every dispatch.
