Three thousand native saplings, planted densely in the Miyawaki method, now grow on the Bhawani campus at Mandi Gobindgarh.
The method is simple: native species, planted close, allowed to compete. The result grows faster and denser than conventional planting, and it takes hold on ground that industry has used hard.
A foundry runs on heat and material. Taking the long view about the ground the plant stands on is the same instinct that makes us specify a casting for ten years instead of four.
